Designed for the villagers living around, The High School at Shahpura is built for a social cause.
Shahpura town comes under Jaipur district & is appx. 200km from New Delhi. With a population of mere 20000 and no modern-day facilities, the client decided to prosper education system in the given town.
Designed to create a sense of community & continuity of social cause, the school buliding is a fluid sequence of spaces, arranged around numerous courtyards. The site sits within wheat fields till horizon. Inside the precinct, fours blocks are planned class wise and arranged at varying angles. The area in-between each block contains angular courtyards with interactive bridges and exhibition spaces.
In the interiors, one enters through generous double height green courts shielding classrooms from sports activty zone and traffic noise. These four courts are designed with varying landscape themes for visual differentiation, thence adding overall kinaesthetic experience.
